Meet Ramsay!
A lovable almost seven-year-old hound mix from Jay, ME, whose heart is as big as his sturdy frame. With his unique stub tail and warm brown coat, he’s sure to capture your heart with just one glance. Ramsay is a bit on the chubby side—he’s a fan of sharing the last bite of whatever you’re eating! His favorite pastime is enjoying leisurely walks, nose to the ground, sniffing out every scent the outdoors has to offer. He’s not in a rush, making him the perfect companion if you enjoy long, relaxed strolls.
Ramsay may not be the life of the dog park, but he’s perfectly content living the quiet life. He does well with calm dogs but isn’t one for playdates or socializing with the neighborhood pups. A calm, serene environment suits him best, especially with older kids or adults who understand that Ramsay needs his space and a secure yard or leash to keep him safe. He’s a strong boy, and his hound instincts will lead him off on an adventure if given the chance!
This gentle giant is a bit timid and thrives with a predictable routine. Ramsay’s not a fan of bustling, noisy environments, preferring the simple joys of home or a peaceful car ride. He’ll let you know when someone’s at the door with a quick bark, but he’s otherwise content to quietly hang out, making him a great companion for those who cherish calm.
Ramsay knows his basic commands—sit, stay, lay down, and paw—and while he doesn’t need constant attention, he loves being nearby, making him the ideal loyal companion for someone looking for a laid-back buddy. Plus, he’s neutral with cats, so no need to worry about any feline family members!
Ramsay does have a couple of special needs. He takes Apoquel with his first meal of the day to manage itchy skin and recently started on vitamins to keep him feeling his best.
