Terms of Use

Welcome to the Joyful Pets ecosystem, including rehomewithlove.com and adopt.joyfulpets.com (collectively, the "Services"), operated by Joyful Pets, Inc. ("Joyful Pets," "we," "us," or "our").
By using these Services, or by purchasing a rehoming support package, you agree to these Terms.
1. Our Role: The "Venue" Clause
Joyful Pets acts as a marketing and support venue to connect current pet guardians ("Rehomers") with potential adopters ("Adopters").
We are not a shelter, rescue, or breeder.
We do not take legal custody or physical possession of any pet.
The Final Agreement: Any adoption or rehoming agreement is a private contract strictly between the Rehomer and the Adopter. Joyful Pets is not a party to that agreement, does not sign it, and does not enforce its terms.
We do not guarantee the health, behavior, or temperament of any pet, nor do we guarantee the suitability of any home.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services or adopt a pet through our platform.
3. Fees and Payments
Fees for our support packages (such as Essential, Full-Service, or Priority Placement) are listed on our website at checkout.
All service fees are due upfront.
Because our costs are incurred immediately upon starting your campaign, fees are non-refundable once your onboarding consultation has been completed.
Adoption Fees: Currently, Joyful Pets does not facilitate the exchange of money between Rehomers and Adopters. Rehomers may not use our platform to sell pets for profit.
4. User Content & License
You retain ownership of the photos, videos, and bio information you provide about your pet. However, by submitting this content, you grant Joyful Pets a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, distribute, and display this content on our websites, social media channels, and third-party partner sites (like Petfinder) to help facilitate the rehoming.
5. User Responsibilities (Truthfulness)
Whether you are rehoming a pet or looking to adopt, you agree to provide accurate, honest information.
For Rehomers: You must disclose all known health and behavioral history, including any history of biting or aggression. Withholding safety information is a violation of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of services without refund.
For Adopters: You agree to provide truthful information regarding your home environment, household members, and pet ownership history.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Services for unlawful purposes, misuse our content, harass other users, or attempt to breach our security measures.
7. Disclaimers & Release of Liability
Joyful Pets provides the platform "as is." We screen listings, but we cannot guarantee the truthfulness of users or the behavior of animals.
Release: By using our Services, you hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless Joyful Pets, Inc. from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the rehoming process. This includes, but is not limited to: (a) property damage or personal injury (including bites) caused by a pet; (b) the failure of an adoption; or (c) disputes between the Rehomer and the Adopter.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
9. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall be settled by binding arbitration in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive your right to a trial by jury or to participate in a class action lawsuit.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Effective Date" at the top will indicate the latest version. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Joyful Pets, Inc. (“us”, “we”, or “our”) operates the pet adoption and rehoming ecosystem, including the websites rehomewithlove.com and adopt.joyfulpets.com (collectively, the “Services”).

Provide Support: Assist with account issues or rehoming questions.
Marketing & Resources: Send you relevant updates, pet care tips, and offers for pet-related products (e.g., food, insurance, training) that support your journey.
Improve Services: Analyze user behavior to make our platform better.
3. Sharing Your Information & Business Transfers
We do not sell your personal information to third-party data brokers. However, we share data in these specific ways to operate our business:
Service Providers: We share data with trusted vendors who help us run the site (e.g., hosting providers like Amazon Web Services, payment processors like Stripe, and email services).
Between Users: If you submit an adoption inquiry, your profile info is shared with the pet owner. If you list a pet, your listing is visible to adopters.
Business Transfers: In the event that Joyful Pets, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, your Personal Data, account history, and pet profiles may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction.
Legal Obligations: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of a pet or person.
4. Data Retention
We retain your Personal Data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services.
Active Accounts: We keep your data so you can easily log in, view past adoptions, or list new pets in the future.
Deletion: You may request account deletion at any time by contacting privacy@joyfulpets.com. Note that we may retain certain transaction records for legal or financial compliance even after account deletion.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies to keep you logged in across our different websites, remember your search preferences, and analyze site traffic via tools like Google Analytics. We may also use services like Google Ads to show you reminders about pets you viewed when you visit other websites. You can opt-out of this via your browser settings.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (SSL) and security practices to protect your data. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
