A majestic almost three-year-old Great Pyrenees, American Akita, and Alaskan Malamute mix from Baudette, MN, who embodies 115 pounds of love, fluff, and adventure. With her snowy white coat accented by dark facial features and ear tips, Poppy is as striking as she is affectionate. She’s an intelligent and playful soul who adores cuddles, thrives on attention, and lights up any room with her lively energy!
Poppy’s favorite pastimes include chasing squeaky toys and indulging in short bursts of joyful zoomies that will have you laughing along with her! She’s already mastered commands like sit, lay down, and waiting for her cue before diving into meals. While she’s shy when meeting new people, her warm heart shines through as she blossoms into a loyal companion once she feels safe.
Poppy’s perfect match is a calm, loving home where she can be the star of the show as an only pet. While she’s lived harmoniously with another dog in the past, she tends to feel anxious around other animals and thrives in a quieter, pet-free environment. Her ideal caregivers are experienced dog lovers who can dedicate time to her continued training and help her build confidence as she explores the world beyond her comfort zone. Poppy hasn’t been around children, so an adult-only home would suit her best.
Though she hasn’t had formal obedience training, Poppy’s eagerness to learn and please her people makes her a wonderful candidate for ongoing positive-reinforcement training. A fenced yard is essential for her to stretch her legs safely, as she’s been known to treat off-leash time as a game of chase. She’s a digger at heart but respects boundaries when supervised outdoors.
