A dashing almost six-year-old American Bulldog mix from Chicago, IL, who’s as unique as the black spots on his floppy white ears. Weighing in at a solid 75 pounds, Atlas is the perfect blend of strength and sensitivity, with a playful streak and a heart as big as his stature. Whether he’s gnawing on his beloved Nylabones or curling up for a cozy cuddle session, Atlas is always ready to show his sweet and affectionate side—especially when he gets to lean his head on you in that signature way of his. Atlas is a brainy boy, too! He’s mastered an impressive array of commands, including sit, stay, heel, quiet, and even "eyes" (yes, he’ll focus on you when you ask!). Crate-trained and house-trained, Atlas thrives in a structured environment and is perfectly content hanging out solo for short periods. He’s medium-energy and loves to play, but when it’s time to unwind, he knows how to relax like a champ.
Atlas is looking for a special, understanding pet parent who can meet his unique needs. He’s currently dog-reactive, meaning he may become excited or stressed when seeing other dogs, but this is something that can improve with proper training and patience. He can also be cautious with new people in the home. Recently, Atlas had one bite incident when a guest was visiting, which highlights his need for a calm, structured environment.
