With a sleek black-and-brown brindle coat and a heart full of devotion, Rocky is a true athlete at heart—always ready for a game of fetch, a long run, or a day spent exploring the great outdoors!
Rocky is a highly intelligent and well-trained companion who thrives in a structured environment. He knows an impressive array of commands, including sit, place, down, shake, spin, up (jump onto something), wait, back up, and even "be calm" for moments of relaxation. He’s fully crate-trained, house-trained, and trained for off-leash adventures, making him an excellent partner for hiking, running, and exploring. If you're looking for a sporting dog, Rocky would excel in agility, herding, scent work, or even dock diving—he loves to put his skills to the test! With the right guidance, his reactivity can be managed, unlocking his full potential as a competitor in canine sports.
Rocky has been raised around young children (ten months and four years old), and his true cattle dog instincts mean that he plays well with them—though he’s also been known to "herd" them around the house as part of the fun! His goofy, fun-loving personality ensures that there’s never a dull moment, whether he’s zooming around with his favorite Chuck-It ball or engaging in a competitive game of tug-of-war. Rocky thrives on interaction and loves to be part of the action, always eager to learn and engage with his humans!
Rocky is in excellent health—neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and ready for his next adventure. While he’s an amazing companion, he does have some leash reactivity toward other dogs, which is fear-based rather than excitement-driven. He does best with a confident, experienced caregiver who can provide structure and ongoing training. Off-leash, he can enjoy playtime with other dogs, but introductions should be done carefully, as he likes to assess the situation before fully engaging.
An ideal home for Rocky would be with an active, dog-savvy individual or family who can provide him with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and clear guidance. A yard where he can run and play safely would be a bonus! He’s best suited for a home without cats or small animals due to his high prey drive.
