Meet Ringo!
A lovable one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Boxer/Alaskan Malamute mix from Rolla, MO, with a heart as big as his 80-pound frame. His striking white coat with bold black patches makes him stand out, but it’s his affectionate nature that truly wins people over. He may not realize just how big he is, but that just adds to his charm—he’s always ready to snuggle up close, even if he doesn’t quite fit in your lap!
Ringo is a playful and devoted companion who thrives with structure and guidance. He loves big bones, chasing after balls, and chewing on his favorite ring toy. He’s already learned "sit" and "leave it," showing his eagerness to learn, and with training, he has the potential to be an amazing companion. While he hasn’t had formal obedience training yet, he’s crate-trained and house-trained, making him well on his way to being a great family dog.
That said, Ringo needs a patient and understanding home to help him navigate his emotions. He has displayed fear-biting tendencies—he hasn't bitten anyone, but when he feels scared or overwhelmed, he may react defensively. He has also had some altercations with another dog in the household which means he may do best as the only male dog in the home. A guardian who can read his cues and work with a trainer to build his confidence will be key in helping him feel safe and secure. New people, unfamiliar places, and vet visits can be stressful for him, so slow introductions and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping him adjust.
Ringo does well when left alone for short periods, and he has a solid daily routine that keeps him balanced—morning and evening walks, meals, and potty breaks throughout the day. He’s neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations.
