A charming six-year-old Dachshund from Lombard, IL, whose heart is as big as her love for cozy couch snuggles. With her warm brown coat and soulful eyes, Coco is the perfect blend of affectionate companion and backyard explorer, always eager to take in the sights and sounds of the world around her—before happily curling up beside her favorite humans!
Coco is a true homebody at heart. While she enjoys a quick game of fetch and adores her stuffed squeaky toys and filled bones, nothing makes her happier than settling in next to her people for a relaxing evening. She’s house-trained and crate-trained, feeling most comfortable in her crate when left alone. And if you need a travel buddy, Coco is more than ready—she loves car rides so much that she’ll hop in any chance she gets!
Coco’s ideal home is a quiet, calm environment with adults or teenagers who can give her the attention she needs. She’s incredibly loving with people and will have any new friend petting and snuggling her in no time! However, young children make her anxious, so she’s looking for a home without small kids. She thrives with a pet parent who is home more often than not, but she’s perfectly content to relax in her crate while you’re out and about.
As much as Coco adores her humans, she prefers to be the only pet in the household. She has shown aggression toward other dogs her size or smaller and has some leash reactivity, so a fenced-in yard would be a wonderful bonus for her. She knows a few basic commands—sit, wait, and shake—but like any true Dachshund, she has a bit of a stubborn streak, so continued positive reinforcement training would be beneficial.
Aside from minor seasonal allergies easily managed with Benadryl, Coco is a healthy, happy pup who’s ready to find her perfect match.
