Meet Loreto!
Loreto is a four-year-old Labrador Retriever mix in Carlsbad, CA, with a handsome black-and-white coat and a loyal, affectionate nature. Weighing around 70 pounds, he’s a solid, loving companion who’s ready to settle into a home that values patience, structure, and connection.
Originally from Mexico, Loreto has adjusted well to life in a home environment. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps comfortably through the night. Loreto knows “sit” and enjoys learning, especially when training is calm, positive, and consistent. He has also shown that he can be adaptable, recently doing well on a road trip and in public settings.
Loreto is still developing confidence in dog social situations. He has done well with some dogs and can succeed with slow, thoughtful introductions, but he continues to work through fear-based reactivity. He may thrive with a confident canine companion after careful introductions and ongoing guidance.
He would do best in a home without cats or small animals. Loreto is suitable for a household with mid to older children who can respect his boundaries and enjoy spending time with an active, engaged dog. His favorite activities include daily walks, playing ball, and relaxing close to his people. Companionship is what matters most to him!
Loreto is looking for a calm, supportive home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. In return, he offers steady loyalty, affection, and a strong bond with his humans.
