A lively eight-year-old Beagle/Pug/Chihuahua/Terrier mix from Hamilton, OH, whose black brindle coat sparkles almost as brightly as her playful spirit. Mona may have celebrated eight birthdays, but don’t let that number fool you—this small, 20-pound bundle of joy has the heart and energy of a puppy!
Mona is a spirited and clever girl who thrives on activity. She’s a fetch enthusiast, always ready to chase a ball across the yard or dash through the park, and after a good workout, she transforms into the ultimate cuddle companion, curling up beside you for a cozy movie night. She’s incredibly smart and already knows a delightful lineup of commands like sit, down, off, by me, and watch me. While Mona has a stubborn streak, she’s hilariously motivated by treats—this little food detective will happily perform her entire repertoire for a tasty reward and is known for her impressive snack-scavenging skills!
Raised alongside a cat, Mona has developed a sweet friendship with feline friends and enjoys their playful company. With other dogs, she can be selective—she’ll need a thoughtful introduction to ensure everyone gets along. Mona is fully house-trained, crate trained, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations, making her an easy fit into a caring home. She’s also unfazed when left alone for short periods, typically snoozing peacefully on the couch.
Mona does have a few quirks that make her even more endearing. She’s a sensitive soul when it comes to rain, thunder, and wind, and you might find her trembling during a storm—so she’ll need a guardian who can offer her a comforting lap and reassurance during those blustery days. Additionally, Mona can show some food guarding behavior around high-value treats, so a family willing to practice positive reinforcement will help her thrive.
Most importantly, Mona is deeply bonded to her best buddy, Teddy, and they would love to find a home together. These two share a beautiful companionship, and adopting them both means double the joy, double the cuddles, and a ready-made pair of loving friends—though they don’t have to be adopted together, it would be ideal to keep this dynamic duo united.
