A sweet and affectionate almost four-year-old Australian Shepherd/Shepherd mix currently living in Hixson, TN, whose heart is as loyal as it is full of playful charm.
Wrapped in a beautifully multicolored coat, Maverick is a medium-sized companion (about 50 pounds) with a calm confidence and gentle spirit. He adores being near his favorite humans, happily snoozing when alone and leaning in close during stormy weather—his quiet way of saying, “You’ve got me, right?” Though he can be a little cautious with unfamiliar dogs, Maverick isn't aggressive; he just prefers a slow introduction and a little personal space. Once he’s comfortable, his playful side shines through like sunshine after the rain!
Maverick has grown up around kids and has a protective, watchful side that helps him feel like a true part of the family. He was once pals with cats, and though it’s been a while, he might settle in just fine with a feline sibling again. He knows a few solid commands like “sit,” “lay down,” and “speak,” and he’s crate trained and completely house-trained. He’s the kind of pup who doesn’t need constant direction—just your love and a bit of room to roam.
This boy isn’t much for toys but delights in simple joys like running in the yard or hanging out by your side. He thrives in a home with a fenced yard and caregivers who have time to give him the companionship he needs. And while he’s not one for showing off with tricks, his most endearing feature is his unshakable devotion—he’ll love you, no matter what!
