Meet Willow!
A tender-hearted four-year-old Shepherd mix currently living in Asheville, NC, whose soul is as soft as her fawn-colored coat, gently accented with white. With every wag of her tail and gentle gaze from her soulful eyes, Willow quietly says, “I’m ready to love and be loved.”
At 50 pounds of gentle affection, Willow is the kind of companion who brings peace to a room just by being in it. Her favorite thing in the whole world? Simply being close to her person! She’s a professional shadow, quietly padding behind you from room to room, happy just to exist in your orbit. Give her a soft spot to curl up, a few chew bones or squeaky toys, and your undivided attention, and she’s living her best life.
Willow is house-trained, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations. She enjoys daily walks, sniffing her way through the neighborhood like a curious little explorer, and while she can be timid at first, she warms up beautifully to friendly strangers. Her leash manners are lovely, and she knows basic commands like “sit,” “come,” “stop,” and “no.” Though she’s never had formal training, her eagerness to please makes her a joy to guide with positive reinforcement.
She’s peacefully lived with a cat, showing only kindness and calm curiosity. But Willow has made it clear she would truly thrive as the one and only pet in a calm, loving home. She's had some food-related scuffles with a canine companion, and since a recent move, tension with the other dog has increased. But outside the home, Willow remains calm and non-reactive, even enjoying trips to the dog park and having playdates!
Willow needs a peaceful home filled with affection, patience, and gentle structure. She does best when she's not left alone for long stretches and would flourish with a caregiver who sees her not just as a pet, but as a beloved companion and constant presence.
