Meet Luna!
A soulful seven-and-a-half-year-old Terrier mix currently living in Hadley, MA, whose expressive eyes and silky black coat, with charming white accents, tell a story of resilience, sensitivity, and deep affection. Small in size at just 25 pounds, Luna is a gentle heart wrapped in a bundle of quirks, intelligence, and tender needs.
This bright girl knows how to sit, wait, lay down, spin, and even offer a polite paw! Proof that she’s no stranger to learning, especially when her guardian uses patience and positive reinforcement. Luna thrives on structure and calm routines. She adores morning walks and has a soft spot for chew toys that help her decompress. While her love runs deep, so do her fears, especially when routines shift or her person is away too long. Being left alone for a few hours is manageable for her, but anything longer can leave her feeling untethered and anxious. In the past, Luna has nipped when overwhelmed, specifically in situations where her routine was disrupted or when someone tries to separate her from her safe space. It’s not aggression, but a response rooted in anxiety and fear, especially of being left out or left behind.
Luna isn't compatible with dogs or cats, and she's not a fan of loud noises or busy environments. She reacts strongly to stressful energy and is particularly wary of people who are nervous around dogs. Her ideal home is a calm, pet-free space with a guardian who is present most of the day, someone who doesn’t mind skipping car rides, as Luna finds them terrifying. Because of this, she’s hoping to meet local families who can visit her a few times and get to know her in her comfort zone.
Now, let’s talk about Luna’s most adorable quirk: when she’s feeling safe and snuggly, she’ll roll right onto her back and wiggle her way into your arms for belly rubs. It’s her way of saying, “You’re my person,” and it’s guaranteed to melt your heart!
Luna needs someone who sees her not just for her challenges, but for the fiercely loyal, affectionate, and emotionally rich companion she is. If you’re a patient, present person looking for a deeply bonded relationship with a dog who simply wants to feel safe and loved, could Luna be the one you’ve been waiting for?
