A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois currently living in Oceanside, CA, whose essence is a perfect blend of high-octane energy and wholehearted affection wrapped in a sleek fawn-and-black coat.
Hans is your ultimate adventure buddy and professional snuggler all rolled into one loyal, goofy, and brilliant canine companion! If you're into morning jogs, weekend hikes, or spontaneous games of tug-of-war in the backyard, Hans is all in. But once his 30-minute walk (or two) is in the books and the last toy has been tossed, he becomes a cuddle magnet, melting into your side for hours of snuggly downtime.
True to his breed, Hans is deeply intelligent and absolutely thrives on mental stimulation. He’s completed a 5-week AKC-certified training program and is crate-trained, house-trained, and command-savvy with a skill set that includes sit, down, stay, come, heel, “find it,” and “eyes.” Puzzle toys, sniffing games, and structured routines keep him at his happiest and his most polite.
While Hans is naturally protective of his family, he greets calm strangers with gentleness and curiosity. He’s lived side-by-side with toddlers and has shown himself to be a sweet and gentle playmate with children. He’s also playful and generally friendly with other dogs, though his excitement sometimes needs gentle guidance. He’s the life of the party and occasionally forgets not every pup wants to play on his level. A calm female dog or another energetic breed would likely make a great match.
Hans hasn’t met any cats yet, but he’s a curious observer, especially when perched on a balcony, keeping an eye on passersby or watching birds with quiet fascination. He’s also fine being alone for a few hours, but after six or so, he’ll start craving activity and engagement again.
This lovable goofball would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, active caregivers who understand the brilliance and energy of the Malinois breed, and a daily routine that includes plenty of exercise and affection.
