Meet Chavo!
A spirited almost one-year-old Dalmatian/Australian Cattle Dog mix currently in Vista, CA, whose essence is a joyful swirl of energy, smarts, and spotted charm wrapped in a white coat sprinkled with black dots.
This playful pup is a whirlwind of fun and affection. Whether he's tugging on his favorite rope toy, chasing down a tennis ball, or confidently cruising on a skateboard (yes, really!), Chavo brings a spark of happiness wherever he goes. He thrives on movement and daily runs, long walks, and spirited play sessions are his love language. He's friendly with everyone he meets, from toddlers to seniors, and especially lights up around other dogs. A home with a fellow canine buddy would be a huge bonus for this social butterfly!
Chavo is crate trained, house-trained, and already knows a few cool commands like "sit," "fist bump," "come," and "quiet." He’s food-motivated and smart, making him a great candidate for positive reinforcement training. That said, he can be a little stubborn and easily distracted, so patience, consistency, and lots of tasty treats will go a long way, especially when working on recall and slowing down his enthusiasm.
While he's a happy-go-lucky guy, Chavo does need a bit of structure. He’s strong for his size and tends to counter-surf if left to his own devices. His new family should be prepared to guide him with loving boundaries and keep tempting snacks well out of reach. Due to some past tummy troubles and poultry allergies, he should stick to his dog-friendly meals, no table scraps, please, unless you want an unpleasant surprise!
Chavo does best in an active home with space to run and caregivers who can keep up with his zest for life. He’s affectionate to the core and happiest when cuddled up next to his person after a full day of adventure.
