Meet Negro!
A devoted three-year-old German Shepherd mix currently in San Diego, CA, whose essence is a heart full of loyalty wrapped in a classic tan-and-black coat. At around 80 pounds, this gentle soul is looking for a new loving home after the heartbreaking loss of his beloved pet parent.
Negro’s world changed suddenly, but his steady spirit and affectionate nature remain unwavering. He’s the kind of dog who builds strong connections, his greatest joy is simply being by your side! Whether joining you on a peaceful walk or settling in for a quiet evening on the couch, Negro is a constant, comforting presence. His favorite pastimes include carrying around his trusty Nylabone, playing a casual game of fetch (though retrieving isn’t exactly his strong suit, his enthusiasm more than makes up for it!), and pulling his bed out into the sun so he can relax and soak up the warmth. When Negro gets scratched on his sides, that is his “spot,” and he absolutely lives for it!
Kind, gentle, and incredibly patient, Negro is crate trained, house-trained, microchipped, neutered, and fully up to date on vaccinations. With a calm, balanced energy and a loving heart, he’s an ideal match for a family seeking a faithful companion.
Negro is a smart boy who knows “come,” “sit,” and “stay,” and he quickly adapts to new routines. He does fine on his own for short periods but truly thrives with human companionship during the day. He enjoys his brother’s company, but his comfort with other dogs is unknown, so a gentle introduction or being the only pup may suit him best. He isn’t compatible with cats, so he’ll thrive in a cat-free home.
Negro is deeply connected to his family and does well in a calm, respectful environment. He would be most comfortable in a home with adults or older children, as he may growl when younger kids try to pet him, a gentle signal that he prefers quieter interactions.
The most touching thing about Negro is his quiet, unwavering devotion. Despite the loss he's endured, he remains gentle, trusting, and full of love to give. He’s not just looking for a new home, he’s looking for a heart to belong to.
Could you be the loving new family Negro needs to start his next chapter?
