Meet JuJu!
A loyal six-year-old mixed-breed companion currently in Baltimore, MD, whose warm tan-and-white coat and heartfelt head-hugs make him an unforgettable friend with three legs and a big personality to match.
At 39 pounds, JuJu is a medium-sized pup who thrives in a calm, structured environment where his routine of leash walks, crate time, and plenty of snuggles stays consistent. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and knows a whole toolkit of commands like sit, stay, down, and even “okay”. He's also a well-mannered gent who loves squeaky toys and relaxing by your feet, especially if he can rest his head on your slippers! He’s affectionate and deeply bonded with his caregivers, often leaning in for “head-hugs” to show his love.
While JuJu is full of charm, he does come with some special considerations. He has shown anxious and protective behavior around his amputated leg, and he once snapped, without biting, at a toddler who startled him with sudden physical contact near that area. This moment was a warning, but it clearly signaled JuJu’s discomfort with unexpected touch, especially from young children. Additionally, about a year and a half ago, JuJu was involved in a dog-to-dog bite incident. This highlighted that JuJu is dog-selective and needs thoughtful introductions to other dogs. With compatible canine friends and proper structure, he may do well, but he would also be happy as the only pet.
JuJu is not a fit for busy or high-energy homes. He’s at his best with adults or older children who can respect his boundaries and offer a peaceful environment where he feels safe and secure. Trucks and loud noises like door knocking can make him anxious, so a quiet setting will help him shine.
This gentle soul is ready to offer someone his unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and those tender moments only a truly bonded dog can bring.
