Meet Nala!
An affectionate almost eight-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from Portland, OR, whose golden fawn coat reflects the warmth and devotion she brings to everyone she meets. Weighing sixty-five pounds, this intelligent girl offers the perfect blend of playful energy and soulful companionship. Whether you're heading out for a scenic hike or settling in for a cozy evening, Nala happily matches your pace, always ready with her beloved ball or a gentle lean against your side. Bonus perk: Nala is an excellent road-trip companion who rides beautifully in the car and is always eager for the next shared adventure.
Nala is crate trained, highly responsive to positive reinforcement, and knows an impressive list of commands. She thrives on structure and finds comfort in a predictable routine. Once she understands your daily rhythm, she relaxes beautifully and becomes a steady, reassuring presence in your life. She experiences some separation anxiety, but once she settles into your schedule, she handles it well with no destruction, just a little longing for your return.
Currently, Nala takes daily medication to help her manage stress related to living in a multi-pet environment. In a quieter setting, her sweet and peaceful personality truly shines. She also takes Trazodone as needed during high-stress moments like fireworks. Nala has shown she needs to be the only pet in her new loving home, where she can feel secure and fully at ease. She would be compatible with adults or families with older children who can respect her boundaries and appreciate her sensitive, intuitive nature.
Nala needs a caring environment where she can be your loyal shadow, hiking companion, and snuggle champion. In return, she offers deep connection, steady devotion, and joyful play sessions that brighten every day. If you're ready to welcome a smart, loving girl who will walk beside you through life's adventures, please reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com.
