Meet Remi!
A tender-hearted eight-and-a-half-year-old American Bully currently in Philadelphia, PA, whose big white frame, dotted here and there with charming black spots, is wrapped around one goal: cuddling her way into someone’s heart.
Remi is a girl who knows what she wants, and what she wants is love. Lots of it! The kind of love that includes slow mornings curled up on the couch, afternoon strolls filled with sniff-tastic adventures, and quiet nights side by side. She’s the canine embodiment of a weighted blanket: warm, comforting, and always nearby. Squeaky toys do catch her attention, but be warned, if she really loves one, it may not survive the celebration! Still, her heart belongs to snuggles, and she has mastered the art of being a shadow who also gives the best couch cuddles around.
This sweet girl is house-trained, microchipped, spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations. She knows commands like sit, lay down, paw, and “go to bed,” which she follows with a calm confidence. Remi is crate trained, responds well when called, and is a fan of car rides, especially if they lead to new places to explore or someone new to love. She thrives on structure and calm routines, enjoying three to four walks a day and two simple meals, but she’s not picky about the schedule. Remi also has sensitive skin, likely allergy-related.
Remi does experience some mild separation anxiety, mostly nibbling at her skin when left alone, and she is particularly sensitive to fireworks, thunder, and noisy trucks. She sometimes jumps up when meeting new people, not out of aggression, but from a mix of excitement and nervous energy. A little patience and reassurance go a long way in helping her settle.
Remi's perfect match would be a calm, pet-free home with a gentle-hearted woman who can offer her consistency and affection. While she prefers women and bonds deeply with them, she can be a bit wary around men. Some men make her nervous at first, but with time and kindness, she may warm up. Though she’s shy around cats and hasn’t lived with other dogs, she’s been noted as excitable, but not aggressive, when meeting dogs in shelter assessments.
With occasional zoomies that bring bursts of joy, followed by long naps and even longer cuddle sessions, Remi is ready to settle into a new loving environment where she can continue her quiet mission of loving as hard as she can.
Could your home be the place where Remi’s next chapter begins?
