Meet Juno!
A sweet nine-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Bull Terrier/Sharpei mix currently in Brookhaven, PA, whose warm personality and beautiful tan coat with white accents make her a deeply affectionate companion who loves being close to her people.
Weighing about 50 pounds, Juno carries herself with the calm confidence of a dog who knows the rhythm of a happy life. She enjoys heading out for neighborhood walks where she can take in the sights and smells of the day, and she lights up the moment a toy is tossed her way! Fetch is one of her favorite games, and she will eagerly chase anything that can be thrown across the yard or living room. After a bit of activity, she happily transitions into relaxation mode, curling up beside her favorite humans for cozy couch time.
People are truly Juno’s favorite part of the world. She is friendly with strangers and absolutely adores children. She has spent years around her guardian’s young nieces who grew up alongside her, and she welcomes kids with gentle curiosity and a wagging tail. Car rides are another activity she enjoys, and she settles comfortably for longer drives, making her a pleasant travel companion.
At home, Juno is easygoing and well mannered! She is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. When left alone for a while, she is perfectly content relaxing on the couch until her family returns. She understands sit, wait, and come, and she enjoys continuing to learn through patience and positive reinforcement.
Juno would thrive in a home where she can be the only dog. She can become very reactive when encountering other dogs, particularly while on leash. While she has never bitten another dog, these reactions show that she feels much more comfortable without canine roommates. Earlier in life she enjoyed dog park visits, but after a tense interaction with a larger dog she became more cautious around unfamiliar dogs. With calm handling, structured walks, and a caring environment focused on her comfort, she can continue building confidence.
Thunderstorms and fireworks can make her uneasy and even household items like brooms or mops can seem suspicious. Gentle reassurance helps her settle during those moments.
Juno typically enjoys three walks each day and prefers grazing on her meals throughout the day. In 2021 she had surgeries on the knee of her right rear leg, and she has been moving comfortably ever since without ongoing issues.
Could Juno be the loving companion who joins your next chapter of everyday adventures?
