Blue is a large boy at 75 pounds and he carries himself with a mix of playful curiosity and tender devotion to his people. He adores romping in a fenced yard with his favorite toy, a big ball on a rope, and he lights up during car rides where new sights and scents pass by!
At heart, Blue is a constant companion who leans in for snuggles and happily soaks up attention from familiar faces and friendly strangers alike. He knows how to sit and is eager to keep learning through positive reinforcement, especially with a patient caregiver who can offer structure and encouragement.
Blue can feel uneasy with sharp noises and thunderstorms, and he may chew paper or cardboard if left alone for longer stretches, so he needs a calm, stable environment with plenty of one on one time. He has had past altercations with other dogs, though the exact triggers are unknown, which adds to the importance of thoughtful, patient introductions and careful observation. His experiences with other dogs have been mixed, so he may be most comfortable as the only pet at first or with slow, supportive introductions that build trust over time. His compatibility with cats and children is still unknown.
