Meet Penny!
A spirited almost five-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Asheville, NC, whose essence is a vibrant burst of joy wrapped in a beautiful brown brindle coat with white accents. She weighs about 41 pounds and fills every day with enthusiasm, affection, and a heart that wants nothing more than to stay close to her favorite people! Penny is the definition of a velcro dog, happily following her family from room to room, always ready to offer companionship, a wagging tail, or a cozy cuddle on the couch after an active day.
Penny loves to jump, run, and eagerly greet people passing by the yard, making every walk and outdoor adventure feel exciting! Once she has stretched her legs, she is just as content relaxing nearby, proving she has both playful energy and a wonderfully affectionate side. She is house-trained, crate-trained, spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, and happily settles into her kennel at night or whenever her family is away. She also knows sit, stay, down, and kennel, and she enjoys car rides almost as much as spending time with her favorite humans.
Penny thrives when she receives plenty of exercise, attention, and opportunities to share life with her people. She has never shown concerning behavior toward people and genuinely enjoys meeting new friends. Because she becomes so excited when greeting people and has a playful, energetic personality, she would do best with older children who can comfortably handle her enthusiastic welcomes and active nature. Very young children or toddlers could easily be knocked over by her excitement, even though her intentions are friendly and affectionate.
Because of a past incident in which she bit the other resident dog during a stressful situation with a clear trigger, Penny needs a new loving home where she can be the only dog. While Penny generally does well with other dogs, this appears to have been an isolated reaction rather than an ongoing pattern, and she has remained calm under careful management since then. Her next family should be committed to providing thoughtful supervision and continuing to set her up for success in an only-dog environment. Her compatibility with cats has not been fully established.
A single person or couple with an active lifestyle, a fenced yard, and plenty of time for companionship would give Penny the structure and attention she craves. In return, she will provide unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and countless joyful moments filled with tail wags and happy adventures!
Could Penny be the loyal companion who has been waiting to share life's adventures with you?
