Meet Ozzy!
A spirited three-year-old Siberian Husky/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Kalamazoo, MI, whose essence is a vibrant burst of loyalty wrapped in a handsome tan and white coat, highlighted by unforgettable icy blue eyes. Ozzy is the kind of companion who believes life is simply better when shared together! Whether he is following his favorite people from room to room, stretching out for belly rubs, or leaning in for cuddles after a fun day, he fills every moment with affection and devotion. His playful, goofy personality keeps everyone smiling, and his joyful zoomies are always entertaining before he happily settles in to relax nearby.
Adventure is one of Ozzy's favorite words! He loves hiking through wooded trails where every scent tells a story, enjoys exciting car rides, and even likes swimming when the opportunity comes along. Because he is a strong, enthusiastic boy, he can pull hard on the leash when excitement takes over, so he will benefit from continued leash training, regular practice, and positive reinforcement to help him build excellent walking manners. He also has a funny habit of proudly removing every bit of stuffing from his toys, turning playtime into his own creative project. With his intelligence and eagerness to learn, Ozzy completed professional training, where he made meaningful progress. He knows commands like sit and lay down, and he responds well to patience, consistency, positive reinforcement, and engaging rewards, making him a wonderful partner for someone who enjoys continuing his learning journey.
Ozzy is looking for a loving family who understands that he experiences significant separation anxiety. He currently receives daily medication to help manage his anxiety, and he thrives when people are home often and include him as part of everyday life. He would do well with a pet parent who works from home, has a flexible schedule, or simply has a household where someone is around for much of the day. Another confident canine companion may also be a wonderful match, as Ozzy has done well with the two smaller dogs he already knows. Continued exercise, mental enrichment, and ongoing training opportunities will help him continue building confidence. While he has been successful with familiar dogs, introductions to unfamiliar dogs should happen thoughtfully. His experiences with children are still unknown.
Healthy, neutered, house-trained, microchipped, and current on his vaccinations, Ozzy is ready to begin his next chapter with a family who will embrace both his playful spirit and his tender heart.
