Meet Scout!
A spirited almost five-year-old Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix currently in La Center, WA, whose essence is a vibrant burst of joy wrapped in a striking black, gray, and white coat. Weighing 38 pounds, this bright, athletic girl is happiest when a frisbee is soaring through the air, turning every game into an exciting adventure! If there is room to run and someone ready to toss her favorite toy, Scout is all smiles and eager anticipation.
Frisbee is more than a game for Scout. It is her favorite way to connect with the people she loves, and she happily plays two or three sessions each day. Her enthusiasm is balanced by wonderful manners and an impressive ability to listen. Scout is also pretty well socialized with others, making her a friendly and enjoyable companion in a variety of settings. She has excellent recall and responds immediately when called, even if a curious rabbit catches her attention! Super smart and an exceptionally good listener, she is always eager to pay attention and work with her people. That combination of athleticism and responsiveness makes her an enjoyable companion for outdoor adventures, hikes, and daily play. After all that fun, Scout is always happy to crunch on her favorite treats, fresh green beans and carrots!
Scout has no behavior or health concerns and is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, house-trained, crate trained, and microchipped. She is comfortable being left alone for short periods, has no known anxiety triggers, and enjoys a dependable routine with morning and evening meals followed by plenty of active play. She knows commands such as sit and lay down and is eager to continue learning through positive reinforcement.
Around other dogs, Scout is calm and neutral, happily sharing space without seeking constant interaction. She is wonderful with children of all ages, showing a gentle, patient, and comfortable nature around kids. While her experiences with cats have been limited, thoughtful introductions will help everyone get acquainted at a comfortable pace.
Scout would thrive in a loving family with an active lifestyle, consistent companionship, and plenty of open space to stretch her legs. A rural setting or acreage would suit her beautifully, giving her opportunities to run, play, and enjoy the activities she loves most. In return, she will bring loyalty, laughter, and countless memorable frisbee sessions to every day!
