Meet Jasper!
A spirited one-year-old Domestic Short Hair currently in Camas, WA, whose essence is a playful burst of curiosity wrapped in a handsome tuxedo coat. This medium-sized, 11-pound boy is affectionate, social, intelligent, and happiest when he is right in the middle of family life!
Jasper approaches each day like there is something fascinating waiting around every corner. Laser pointers, feather toys, tunnels, climbing spots, and exploring keep his clever mind and energetic paws busy. He thrives with enrichment and interactive play, especially when his favorite people join the fun. At breakfast, Jasper likes to sit nearby and supervise the meal, a charming ritual that lets him stay involved in the action.
After playtime, his snuggly side takes center stage! Settle in for a movie, and Jasper may hop onto your chest and curl up for the entire show. He enjoys being picked up, is vocal and affectionate, and lives comfortably with a small dog. He can be timid when first meeting other cats, but may enjoy a compatible feline companion after a patient introduction.
Jasper is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is healthy, although he has occasionally urinated on a couch. A veterinarian has ruled out a medical cause and believes the behavior is related to anxiety or habit. His family has thoughtfully tried enrichment, multiple litter boxes, professional cleaning, and enzyme cleaners. A foster-to-adopt placement can give Jasper and his prospective family time to see how his litter habits respond to a different environment.
Jasper would thrive with an experienced cat person who can offer companionship, playtime, climbing opportunities, mental stimulation, and patience. A home without young children may provide the calm structure he needs. A secure catio or another safe outdoor option would add even more adventure!
Could Jasper be the breakfast buddy, movie-night snuggler, and playful companion your family has been waiting to welcome?
