Meet Beckham!
A spirited four-year-old Shepherd/Terrier/Hound mix currently in Youngsville, NC, whose essence is a joyful blend of adventure and affection wrapped in a silky golden coat with black and white accents.
Affectionately known as Beck, this 55-pound boy has mastered the art of balancing outdoor fun with serious snuggle time! He loves walks, yard play, hikes, and car rides, but he is equally delighted to lounge beside his favorite people, chew on toys, and soak up belly rubs. His famously soft coat makes petting him wonderfully soothing, so cuddle sessions are truly a win-win!
Beckham also has a hilarious way of showing his happiness. Give him some rump scratches, add a little baby talk, and you may be rewarded with an adorable dance or a joyful case of the zoomies! He is a loving constant companion who enjoys affection and being included in family life.
Smart and eager to learn, Beckham is house-trained and crate-trained. He has received formal obedience training, knows commands including sit and stay, and enjoys positive reinforcement, especially when treats are part of the lesson. He is currently fostered with a trainer who is ready to help his new family make his transition successful.
Beckham is friendly with other dogs and would enjoy a confident canine companion who can join him for playtime. He is suitable for a family with calm, respectful, school-age or older children. Because he has reacted to cats, his new loving home needs to be cat-free. A fenced yard is also important.
On walks, Beckham can be leash reactive toward other dogs and fast-moving things, so he needs an experienced caregiver who can provide confident handling and continued behavior support. At veterinary visits, he requires premedication and a muzzle to help appointments go smoothly. Otherwise, this healthy boy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Beckham brings softness, silliness, loyalty, and adventure into every day. Whether he is cruising in the car, exploring outdoors, playing with a canine pal, or settling in for snuggles, he is happiest sharing life with his people!
