Meet Ollie!
An affectionate one-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier currently in Houston, TX, whose joyful personality shines as brightly as his sleek blue and white coat.
At 53 pounds, Ollie is a medium-sized ball of enthusiasm with good teeth, a shiny coat, and an enormous love for being close to his people! He is happiest following you from room to room, investigating whatever you are doing, cuddling beside you on the couch, or stretching out in the air conditioning for a well-earned nap. This loving boy is truly a constant companion who never wants to miss the action!
Playtime brings out Ollie’s goofy, energetic side. He adores chasing tennis balls, chewing Nylabones and antlers, and testing the durability of stuffed toys. He is very friendly with other dogs and eagerly invites them to play. A playful canine companion could be wonderful for him, although he could also thrive as the only dog with plenty of human companionship. Ollie needs a cat-free home, and because he has not had enough experience with children, his compatibility with kids has not yet been assessed.
Ollie is house-trained and crate-trained, happily heading into his crate at bedtime when a treat is involved. He sleeps through the night and is accustomed to daytime crate naps, sometimes choosing his crate independently when he wants to relax. He knows sit, wait, and stay, comes when called, enjoys car rides, and is wonderfully food-motivated, making positive reinforcement especially rewarding! He may whine briefly when separated from his people, but he settles quickly and continues making progress with a consistent routine.
Ollie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He began heartworm treatment on August 15th and is expected to finish in mid-November. He currently shows no physical symptoms and needs a family who can keep his activity appropriately calm while treatment continues. He also comes with five months of Simparica Trio and is easy to medicate!
