Meet Oliver!
A spirited ten-year-old Maltipoo currently in Gilbertsville, PA, whose essence is a clever little character wrapped in a fluffy white coat and topped off with an irresistible wiggle-butt prance.
At 17 pounds, Oliver may be small, but he has plenty of personality! This smart senior boy enjoys figuring things out for himself and is wonderfully independent when it comes to entertainment. Give him a favorite bone or small squeaky ball, and he can happily keep himself occupied. Belly rubs are another treasured pastime, and when relaxation calls, Oliver takes choosing his sleeping spot seriously. With four beds available, he still sometimes decides the coziest destination is the closet!
Oliver enjoys a predictable routine. He eats Hill’s Science Diet canned stews three times daily, typically takes two short walks, and appreciates easy access outside for potty breaks. Oliver is semi house-trained and may occasionally urinate indoors, so a family who can provide frequent potty opportunities and an easily accessible fenced yard would help him thrive. He knows sit, go back, up, and sometimes come here, and patient positive reinforcement could help him continue building his skills.
Oliver can be quite the conversationalist, using his bark when he needs outside, anticipates dinner, or notices people arriving and leaving. Being alone is stressful for him, and crowds can cause him to shake and seek a quiet hiding place. He needs a family where someone is home most of the time and can offer a calm, reassuring environment.
Oliver is selective with dogs, his compatibility with cats is unknown, and recent experience with children is limited. Once he gets to know someone, he settles in comfortably.
As a senior, Oliver needs attentive ongoing veterinary care. He is managing dental disease, arthritis, skin conditions, lipomas, and anxiety, and his veterinarian has also suspected Cushing’s disease. His drinking has decreased, and he has remained stable. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. Regular grooming every five weeks keeps him looking dapper!
Could Oliver be the charming little buddy who brings more wiggles, squeaky toys, and cozy moments into your family?
