A loyal five-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix currently in Alpine, NJ, whose golden coat, striking dark face, and devoted heart make him a memorable companion. Weighing approximately 60 pounds, this handsome boy is searching for a patient, experienced pet parent who understands his independent spirit and appreciates the special bond built through trust.
Wujoy is a thoughtful, reserved gentleman who takes time to warm up to new people. Once he feels comfortable, his affection shines through in excited greetings, quiet companionship, and a genuine desire to be near his favorite humans. He's not necessarily the cuddliest fellow, but his loyalty speaks volumes!
Walks are among Wujoy's favorite activities. He strolls calmly without pulling on the leash and enjoys observing his surroundings. He also likes car rides, follows an established daily routine, and patiently handles short periods alone, although extended solitude can cause stress. His obedience training provides a foundation for continued learning, especially when tasty treats are involved. Show him food, and he'll happily demonstrate his sit command!
Wujoy needs a home without other pets. He has experienced challenges living with smaller dogs, including a serious incident in which another dog was injured and required veterinary care. Cats should also be avoided as a precaution. He's selective with unfamiliar people and has growled at a boarding staff member, but no human bites have occurred. He's comfortable with a familiar teenager, but compatibility with younger children remains unknown.
An experienced Belgian Malinois or Shepherd enthusiast with a securely fenced yard, preferably in a peaceful rural setting, would suit Wujoy's needs. Meaningful activities, consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and patient introductions will help him build confidence and lasting relationships.
Wujoy is house-trained, microchipped, vaccinated, and has no reported medical conditions. Wujoy will be required to be neutered prior to placement in his new home.
