This lovable, bonded pair of German Shepherds currently in Hudson, NY, is ready to bring double the joy, laughter, and companionship to a new loving home. Kingston is a goofy and affectionate five-year-old boy with a handsome tan sable coat, while Lexi is a sweet and devoted eight-year-old girl with beautiful black and tan markings. Weighing around 95 pounds each, these two gentle giants share an unbreakable bond, a love for tennis balls, and plenty of affection for their favorite people. They're looking for a special family who will welcome them both and keep their hearts together!
Kingston is a bundle of playful charm who loves running, chasing tennis balls, and snuggling with his favorite people. His goofy personality makes him an entertaining companion, while his affectionate side ensures plenty of heartwarming moments. He enjoys car rides and may bark at people who seem frightened of him, so an experienced pet parent who understands German Shepherd behavior will help him feel confident.
Now, meet Lexi! This gentle girl is happiest simply being near her favorite human. She enjoys chasing and chewing her beloved balls, but her calmer energy makes her equally content soaking up affection and companionship. Lexi doesn't demand much attention, but she certainly appreciates every loving moment!
Both are house-trained, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. They know basic commands, including sit, come, and waiting at doors or gates, although additional positive reinforcement training would benefit them. They're comfortable with children of all ages and handle short periods alone well. Their compatibility with other dogs remains unassessed.
Lexi requires twice-daily thyroid medication, seasonal dermatitis treatments as needed, and joint supplements. Kingston benefits from preventive ear ointment following a previous infection.
Although both have lived with cats, they were involved together in a fatal incident with a feral cat entering their yard. Because of this a cat-free home is a must.
These devoted companions need an experienced family comfortable managing two large German Shepherds, a securely fenced yard, and their ongoing care. Most importantly, they need to remain together!
