Weighing around 20 pounds, Parker is a little guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! Incredibly intelligent, expressive, and endlessly entertaining, he has a knack for making people smile. He learns quickly, knows commands like sit, stay, and come, and can even open doors! His favorite things include chasing balls, playing with plush toys, and spending quality time with his favorite humans.
Parker is a devoted companion who forms wonderful bonds with people he trusts. He thrives with predictable routines, gentle guidance, and plenty of togetherness. Because he experiences separation anxiety, he needs a family who is home frequently and can provide reassuring companionship.
This sensitive sweetheart also needs patience when meeting new people. Unannounced visitors and unfamiliar strangers can make him nervous, and he has a history of lunging and biting at clothing. Structured introductions, positive reinforcement, and respecting his personal space help him feel comfortable. Parker can enjoy friendships with other dogs following gradual introductions, although he would thrive as the only pet in an adult-only home.
Parker dreams of a quieter suburban or rural setting with a yard, where he can explore and enjoy peaceful walks. He needs at least two daily walks and gentle playtime. Due to orthopedic conditions, including arthritis and luxating patellas, strenuous activities should be avoided. He also requires a prescription low-fat diet, supplements for joint and liver support, and continued attention to his behavioral needs.
